Hi all. I'm writing an article for American Currents on North American Poecilids. I've got experience with P. latipina, velifera and mexicana/sphenops as well as Heterandria formosa and Gambusia affinis, but not too much experience with any Xiphophorus or other Poecilids from Mexico. (The few storebought xiphophorus hybrids I've kept either haven't bothered to grow, or else died off pretty quick.)

I'm particularly interested in hearing from people who've kept wild type Xiphophorus.

If anyone has any husbandry information or behavioral observations on these fishes that they'd like to share, I'd really like to hear from you off list. If I use your information, I'm planning to attribute it to you in the article.

Thanks for considering this request.

Bob
