A major nuisance, I would think. They may even colonize your water
and sewage pipes if they happen to get flushed down the drain (during a
water change). And, Drano may not be able to get rid of them. :)

I strongly suggest soaking the plants in a 1:19 bleach solution for 1 to 2
minutes to get rid of the mussels and their young (mini-mussels). Some
plants may not make it but then they probably would have died in your tank
anyway.
