In Ross Socoloff's interesting book about the genesis of the tropical fish
industry, "Confessions of a Tropical Fish Addict", he mentions that fish
farmers often found out-of-the-way locations to plant exotic plants, left
them alone, and come back later to harvest them. He also mentions people
becoming "missing" because of poaching on another's site.

"Instead of giving money to found colleges to promote
learning, why don't they pass a constitutional amendment
prohibiting anybody from learning anything? If it works as
good as the Prohibition one did, why, in five years we would
have the smartest race of people on earth." -- American
humorist Will Rogers (1879-1935)
