As I anticipated, Chris Scharpf presented an excellent review of the
native fishes of North America last evening at the Aquarium Club of Lancaster
County. He stimulated interest both in native fishes and in NANFA among the
audience.
Thanks Chris.

Afterwards (Chris had left for the journey back to Baltimore), there was
some discussion of reviving a local chapter of NANFA, there was one
previously centered in Philadelphia/southern New Jersey, and also
coordinating collecting trips. Pennsylvania's vague regulations and the lack
of a local coordinator who has access to collecting permits for Pennsylvania
or New Jersey make this a difficult task. David Littlehale did a great job as
coordinator for several years but has not been able to continue as
coordinator of this group. Any volunteers? I would be glad to assist, but do
not have the knowledge of collecting sites, permits and regulations to
organize any sampling trips.
