try going to the GARF website they have a program that calculates the
thickness of acrylic or glass according to depth and span.

Subject: NANFA-- Aquarium Building

Does anyone out there have glass specs on building a
very large aquarium? I did some searching on the net
and came up with some small stuff but I am not sure if
the thickness will scale up (I am looking to build a
500+ gallon setup.) The unit I am wanting to build
would be at the most two to three feet deep and
roughly square sitting on reinforced cement flooring.
This is going to be a permanent addittion to my home
and I want to make sure before I just start purchasing
that I am getting stuff that will hold up to the job.
Any information will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Adam
