I'm passing along this notice so no one who may be interested will
miss out. The date of the meeting is Saturday, April 3rd. The
writer was Todd Crail:

Greetings Ohio NANFAns :)

Sorry this is coming so late. I'm glad to see people are interested in
going out on Saturday :) I've been having trouble catching back up after
vacation... But here's the skinny and I'll try and get out the Grand River
info ASAP (Nick can you send me the details for the 10th trip to the
Grand?)

The directions are to the Nature Center, where we will be meeting around
12:00 pm. Please stop by there, if no one is there when you arrive (like
closer to 1:00), take the road down the hill into the park. In the valley,
you'll be able to see the bridge and this is where we'll be doing our thing.
The actual event is from 1:00 to 3:00... Hopefully we can organize a trip
afterward to a headwater somewhere to see dace and stuff (Michelle, any
ideas?)

The directions are: (more info below them)

Coming from the North - there are 2 main ways.
#1 - Take the Ohio Turnpike to exit 16 (the last exit in Ohio, North
Lima). After paying the toll, head south on Route 7 (left ramp). You
will stay straight on Rt 7 almost the whole way there. You will go
through a stop light in North Lima, one at 7/14 truckstop, a flashing
light at 14/46, a stop light at 558/517 (our house would be a right on
558, 7th house on right after the RR underpass #43716, 330-482-4009), a
stop light in Rogers, then when you get out past Rogers, watch for the
big sign on your left that says Beaver Creek Golf Course and next to
that is the Beaver Middle School. Make an immediate left to drive past
the school (it will be on your left) and you will go around some curves,
then on your left you will see a park sign on Echo Dell Road. Turn left
there, and shortly you will see the Center on the right and go a little
further and the main park entrance with the bridge area will be on your
right.

#2 - Take the Ohio Turnpike to exit 15, follow 80/76 to the East like
you are headed to Youngstown. After the exit at Route 46, you will see
the exit ramp to get on Route 11 south. Take Route 11 South to the
Beaver Creek Park Exit/ Route 7 (you will have passed Austintown,
Canfield, Columbiana, Leetonia, and I think 2 Lisbon exits). Exit Route
7 North (park sign points that way I believe) and drive maybe 6-8
minutes. When you go past Beaver High School on your left, slow down.
You will need to make a right turn after a small group of pine trees
(before the Middle school and the golf course sign), and then drive
along the Middle School (school will be on your left). I don't know the
name of this road - sorry. Go around some curves, then on your left you
will see a park sign on Echo Dell Road. Turn left there, and shortly
you will see the Center on the right and go a little further and the
main park entrance with the bridge area will be on your right.

From Columbus - I rarely drive this way, so bear with me here on
some guessing. If you take Rt 71 North, you will hit Route 76 East to
Youngstown. You will pass the Turnpike Exit 15, and then follow the
directions above where I describe going 11 South.
If you prefer to take 70 East, then 77 North, then you will see the
Route 30 (I think it says to East Liverpool). Route 30 goes through
Lisbon, and in Lisbon you can pick up 11 south and follow above
directions.

You are welcome to extend your stay by overnighting at the park (there
are campsites available, you would have to contact the park/website).

There is also a bed and breakfast very near to us, where we seined the
second stream, \
it is called the Inn at Willow Pond. The owners are known for their
collection
of Mexican and SouthWestern antiques. They have a webpage.

The day is on an Ohio Free Fishing day, so if you've not picked up a
liscence, don't worry about it for this weekend. Perfect timing, huh? :)

Bring any gear you have... I'm not sure what all we have within our
collective. I will be bringing an aquarium and filter so we can set up a
little display, so shore bound folks can really get a good look at the
animals. If you have any other thoughts, questions, comments... Feel free
to contact me via email or by phone 419-539-6810.

Hope to see you out there! :)

I hope you know that this will go down on your permanent record.
