different "gar"s Re: NANFA-- Want Alligator Gar?

I think what you talk about is the pike livebearer of the genus Belonesox from the
New World [not Asian native]. I think there are quite a number of fishes sold
with the word "gar" or "pike" in it and trade name varies a lot. None of the
"gar" look really real gar though but some "pike" do look a bit like pike. The
halfbeak relative I talk about are in the genus Zenarchopterus [may be misspell]
which can be 14 -25 cm long and have upper jaw much shorter than lower jaw just
like normal halfbeak. I doubt it is in the trade though.
