Young burbot run up the streams here in January. acting like you're
collecting darters ( shallow riffles and spills after piles of rocks) you
can net them sometimes in large numbers. They are in the 4-7 inch range. I
guess up north they are in trout streams all but the warmest summr months.
I have caught young of the year in the main river in May along standing
areas with leaf and stick litter on the bottom. I recomend going with the
larger burbot, they are easier to care for. They are neat pets.
