Most of the places we visited had good 'ol blackwater. I don't have any
snorkeling experience in stained water like this. The water level at all
places we visited was way down and we passed by many places that are normally
full of water. Dustin walked past what he thought might have been an
alligator carcass but we're not sure due to the decomposition. After he saw
that, every underwater log I stepped on made me a little nervous. Even with
the water way down, alot of the places that we visited had plenty of water in
them and were deep enough to prevent us from getting to all the spots we
wanted. Steven, we were actually throwing many F.chrysotus back after we got
the 5 or 6 we each wanted! In addition to the F.chrysotus, the place was
teaming with Heterandria formosa, Ellasoma okatie and the expected Gambusia.
We were suprised not to have found any kind of Noturus. If you have any
other questions, e-mail me.
