Bruce and all..............

I've tried many times to keep F. similis in brackish water, much harder and
higher in salinity than fresh water, but to no avail...........

I suggest that this species be maintained in full strength marine
water............if at all. Their dietary needs may be the hook, being
primary small crustacean and benthic feeders........much like the freshwater
species of the studfish, ie: F. catenatus, stellifer and bifax...........
