A Google search shows a couple of "tiny" sturgeon (and endangered) from that
region. It is troubling to ask this, but would these be better candidates
for commercial cultivation for the aquarium trade than the sturgeon found in
the trade which may out grow their tanks? Sometimes, as hinted at by this
thread, a monetary reason for keeping a species around, helps their
survival.
