Question - is there any logical reason other than a knee jerk reaction
to genetically modified organisms? How could a GM Zebra Danio be any
more of a threat to the California freshwater ecosystems than the wild
type? I could see the reason for concern in regard to the native
populations in Asia - same as concerns for the use of GM crops in areas
where there is a possibility of contamination of wild genepools of
potentially useful plants or even loss of unique land races of crops-
but what do these designer fish have that the original species don't
that makes them a potentially invasive species?
