I have just recently become aware of this fish. It is possibly a hybrid
cichlid. Unlike the parrot cichlid, this one is bred to enhance the several
traits that have meaning. Not only do the spots on the side resemble
characters of the Chinese alaphabet, the hump on the head is supposed to
mean one thing, the red on the breast another, the length of the fins
another. It is actually a really pretty fish. Looking like a texas cichlid
with more colors and patterns, and longer fins. If you type in flowerhorn
cichlid you can find tons of pictures on line. Some are better than others.
