Here's an interesting page -- with some excellent photos -- showing how workers
at the Marion Fish Hatchery in Alabama are attempting to artificially propagate
the near-extinct Alabama sturgeon.

The page, dated 3/23/99, does not indicate that the said female died a few weeks
later (a fact that was officially kept from the public until June, ostensibly
for political reasons), and that the anticipated spawning never occurred.
