A friend of mine is a grad student in the field of bio-something-or-
other (anyway, it deals with electricity and magnetism). He swears
up and down that it has been demonstrated conclusively that birds
use magnetism to navigate, and that experiments which seem to
contradict this have obvious flaws.

I wonder if he thinks that because it's his field, or because he
understands the subject better than most bird people?
