This is the site that Pam Fuller is trying to get NANFA members to help
with. The website will be updated when new occurrences are reported from
people like you. In addition, the book called "Nonindigenous Fishes
Introduced into Inland Waters of the United States" that you can read about
at
http://www.fisheries.org/publications/AFSBooks/webfinal/x510.27.htm contains
the same information. It will contain corrections and additions as further
printings come out.

As long as I can remember people have talked about the role of the fish
collector, and how state and federal agencies don't want their help or don't
realize how valuable they can be. Some of you have talked about how other
agencies use the information from amateur birders and other naturalists, but
ignore aquarists and fish collectors.

Well, NANFA members are now being asked to help, and you have a opportunity
to put your field observations to use. Pam will provide us with her records
of occurrences by drainage basin to review for new species' occurrences.
I'm certain some of you have new information from your collecting trips or
literature forays that will help.

If you go to the NAS website and look at fishes, you see that most of the
nonindigenous species they deal with are native NA fishes out of their
native ranges, but there are lots of non-NA fishes there, too. I'm just
trying to help and to get you folks a chance to show your stuff. I'll even
coordinate this. So far 2 people have contacted me but there's no limit to
the number of contributors. Thanks.
