"What do you guys think of stock tanks. I was looking at some Rubbermaid

ones, which I'm guessing would be fine. What about the metal ones, don't

the rust eventually? Any one used an old rusty one, and how did it
effect the fish, if at all"

I've used the heavy black plastic Rubbermaid stock tanks for years. You
get them at feed stores. The ones I use are 100 gallons. They also
come in 300 gallon size. I've never had a problem with them in any
weather. When empty they are easy to move around. You can wrap plastic
sheet around the standard foil backed insulation and then the insulation
around the tank to mitigate temperature changes. I keep a 300 watt
aquarium heater at it's lowest setting in mine to prevent icing.
