Doing my aquarium tank maintenance, I too had the problem of removing old
mirrored glass, and it is best done very carefully. Don't forget the safety
glasses!

Now, once that task is done and the glass back of the aquarium is thoroughly
scraped with a new razorblade and wiped down with an alcohol-based cleaning
solution, if you wish to recreate that "mirrored" effect then go to a silver
reflective window film! This product is most often used at the Auto
"window-tinting" shops that are very common!

Read the instructions on the package, and be very certain that the back
glass of the aquarium is spotless and you won't have a problem!
