Now hold on just a minute. No one was slamming Chris on this. It was
simply suggested that Chris did too good of a job for an 8th grade student
who was doing a research paper. I think that it was a valid comment and in
no way did I find it condescending to Chris or this process. I actually had
to think twice about forwarding Chris's message back to the girl since all
she had to do copy it and it would have been here report. I don't have
kids, but I was always brought up not given the answers and I appreciate
this, now of course. For the question, it was a superb and thorough
response, however I too think that it was a bit too forthcoming in this
instance. Chris, it is not a slam on you or would I ever hope you aren't so
cooperative on any further inquiries, but the demeanor of Dave's message is
what I consider inappropriate in this instance. We are an educational
organization, however in certain circumstances it would be appropriate to
give *some* useful information and some other leads as to where to find
more. After all, the information alone is not the only thing the girl needs
to learn, it is how (and not only just where) to find information of any
kind in the future. That _is_ one of the utilities of this list and all of
the members on it. Yes, Chris, it is a tough call and I don't think you did
anything wrong, just too good in this case.
