I have had them show up on rainy nights too, but none were ever berried up.
Some were near big enough to eat. I am not sure if they come from the swamp
and river to the north, or the lake to the south. It seems odd either way.
Since the lake is downhill, about a 30 foot change in height , and the swamp
along the river is about a mile or so away. Maybe if I invite them more
will come? I want to try out my new kettle. My wife bought me one for my
birthday last summer, we have done a turkey in it, and I got a ladle for it
so I can do a crawfish boil, or a big fish fry for company. Maybe I can fry
some of the minnows we caught tonight.
