>>What references should I get for info on Oklahoma fishes? What books or
web sites do you know of? Anyone? Thanks!

This book should be available from OSU press in Stillwater and from the
Oklahoma Musueum of Natural History in Norman:

Miller, R.J. and H.W. Robinson. 1980. The fishes of Oklahoma. Oklahoma
State University Press, Stillwater, OK, 246 pp.

Most copies now are spiral-bound softcovers, but old hardcovers can be
found.

Another good source - back issues of the Southwestern Naturalist. You can
search Table of Contents of recent issues at:

http://www.emporia.edu/swan/joureng.htm

but I do not know how to access articles other than by hardcopy. Vol 36,
No. 4 in 1991 was an index to all previous volumes and is very useful.

Also - almost every single recent issue of the Proceedings of the Oklahoma
Academy of Science has one or more fish articles in it (largely due to the
efforts of the late Jimmie Pigg, a legend in Oklahoma ichthyology and
science education). You can search, read, and print any of these articles
from this site:

http://digital.library.okstate.edu/oas/

Hope this helps.
