I haven't found the lack of anaerobic muck to be a problem. The slender
cattails grow around here due to the warm temps. In WV I've seen what must be
giant cattails that grow more than 8 feet tall! but the blade of the leaves
are broad not narrow. I am trying to grow dwarf cattails with not much luck
at the moment maybe the lack of muck is the problem.
