Actually it was a clear lake in the W.Va. mountains, man made of course. I
can't be sure but it seems unlikely a lake in that area would be tannin
stained. the lake was also at the head of a stream almost on top of a ridge.
I checked it out last year and it has been filled in and made into a field.
probably due to the danger a body of water that high up on a mountain posed
if it broke.
