Jim, that's great! But hold on for a minute, and don't be mad at me...

Can you discuss with Todd Crail -- tcrail_at_northshores.com -- the feasibility
of housing the program and database on his server? Todd is already
developing the NANFA Breeders Award Program on his server. Nothing personal
here, but in volunteer clubs like NANFA people come and go without a word.
Having a NANFA member collecting page that may not even be online in a month
will be very disappointing to the members who contribute and those that want
to read and benefit from it.

Can you ask for a few NANFA volunteers to help develop this (e.g., build
your own planning/development team)? I'm not referring to the technical
aspects, but more of what information can be collected and reported. For
example, I think you should develop a plan for this that requests people to
enter site-specific information such as drainage basin, stream order, map
location, etc. Water quality and physical/chemical data are useful also.
Habitats (water depth, substrate, etc) associated with collections, even to
the species, are extremely valuable. Do you have any sort of geographical
approach/structure in mind?

I'll stop here :-)
