I cannot think of any other state that has more problems with aquatic
weeds than the State of Florida. After giving up on all
checmical methods of weed control, the state has undertaken a
very aggressive posture on weed control using sterilized Triploid
Grass Carp (C.idella).
Supposedly a mature C.idella eats about 3 times its body weight
of aquatic vegetation a day. The ones that I have seen are extremely
docile, lazy, fat and slow. Of course that does not mean that they
couldn't jump.
It is rumoured that almost all bodies of freshwater in the state
of Florida has the regular Carps (Cyprinus carpio).
