No, I never paid much attention to Plecostomus but I am sure it is in my
library of 60 years of aquarium magazines someplace. OK, I took a quick look and
found first that they are in Innes 11th edition of Exotic Aquarium Fishes dated
1958, so I need to look back further than that. They were first described in
the 18th century, but when they were commercially introduced, I have not found
yet.
