That kinda describes all our environmental problems, doesn't it--
conflicting needs and views on resource use. I think it comes down to
several things:
- your definition of the word Nature
- how you view the distinction between human effects and natural causes
- personal ethics/responsibility/accountability; how you view yourself and
your actions in relation to (or in spite of!) all that's going on around you.
- present use/exploitation vs a future-based outlook
