I did a little bit of collecting today with John Patterson who came in from
Raleigh, NC. We had to cut our day short because of my doctors appointment
but what little bit of collecting we did was fun. We caught numerous bluefin
killies, gambusia, one fingerling large mouth bass, a large redbrested
sunfish which was a very impressive fish with lots of orange and red
coloration, one crayfish, Procambarus (Scapulicambarus) clarkii which is a
nonnative crayfish ( <A

shes.html">North Carolina Crayfishes</A> ). This crayfish was very red in
coloration and it pinched very hard ;-). I saw a large school of golden
shiners, several baby yellowneck sliders, and one Moontanman tripping and
falling into the water. For a couple of seconds I think only my hat was above
water! I managed to pull my back out and loose my dignity all at once ;-)
