I have to admit I am somewhat of an aeration nut. I very strongly aerate all
my aquariums so keep that in mind when judging aquarium temps from my point of
view. My favorite fish of late was a hogsucker. I caught him as a 2" fish in
W.Va. and he lived three years and grew to about a foot long in water that in
the summer was in the low 80s. I did keep a 24" bubble wand going at a full
tilt boogie all this time. He expired when I added a black shark that harassed
him until he jumped out of the tank. No more black sharks even if they do eat
string algae!
