I've got three bullheads living with my longnose gars who will eat just about
anything you throw at them. Two of them are about 2" and the third about 3"
long. I've seen them go up to a seven inch longnose gar who was trying to
reposition in his mouth a 1.5" gambusia to swallow and steal it out of his
snout and swallow it whole. They're not daunted by anything it seems --- and
the gars seem to simply tolerate their frantic feeding activities ---
figuring that
when the mulm settles and the cats have had their bloated-belly fill of the
feeder
fish, they can stalk the remaining feeders at a more leisurely pace.
