The metal I-beam is probably not grounded, but just lays on top or built
into the cement foundation/walls ( brick or poured). If you have a well,
connect your ground to the pipe that goes in the ground. I believe if you
have water from a municipality, you can ground off that water line as well,
but am not positive. Then there are building codes you might have to follow.
Your Uncle should be up to speed on these. Driving a metal rod in the ground
outside and tagging your ground to that is another option.
