The following resolution has been approved by the NANFA Board of Directors
for the awarding of our annual Conservation Research Grant of $1000. The BOD
has also approved continuing this grant for a third year at the current
funding level. The committee is currently myself, Mark Binkley, Gerald

We of the Conservation Research Grant committee have reviewed this year's
applications and have come to a clear consensus. We recommend to the BOD
that all of this year's award money be granted to Claire McGrath, a doctoral
student in the Center for Limnology at the University of Colorado. Her
research is studying the ecological interactions between non-native brook
trout and native greenback cutthroat trout in the Colorado Rockies. We all
feel excited about her research proposal, with the stated purpose of better
understanding by what mechanisms does an exotic species displace a native
species' population.
