A Pumpkinseed can get over 10" long and they do not play well with others. If that's all you
want to keep, then a 55 will do. But, he will be the only fish in the tank. Do not worry too
much yet. It will take a while for your fish to get that big. Keep the tank on the cool side
and go easy on the feeding. This will help to at least slow his growth a bit.
