By any chance was it PARASITES OF NORTH AMERICAN FRESHWATER FISHES, SECOND
By Glenn L. Hoffman. Hardbound. Our Price $12.95
Even with the $3.90 it is a terrific bargain and they shipped it the next
day. (My American Fisheries order took two months and got all messed up.)
I have been surprised when it has been useful. Of course you realize that
sale means the third edition is just around the corner. ;)
The very reasonable shipping rate is an even better deal if one orders
several works-in-the same time.
THE FOUNDING FISH.
By John McPhee. $5.95, was a great catch-in-the original $25. It's also out
in paperback, but for more than $5.95. It ranks right up there with
Beautiful Swimmers (for me). Poetic, wry, sometimes breath-taking in scope
and fascinating, it has a lot to say to fishermen and naturalists. Even fish
heads who mostly hang around their aquaria will wonder-in-it. (Wish there
was time for a longer review.)
DISCOVERING FOSSIL FISHES.
By John G. Maisey. Paperbound. Published-in-$30.00 Our Price $5.95 Last
year was about $12.00 The year before was $18.00. Guess when I bought it?
CARP FISHING ON VALIUM AND OTHER TALES OF THE STRANGER ROAD TRAVELED.
By Graham Parker. Hardbound. Published-in-$22.95 Our Price $1. Wow, was
this one overpriced!
SHARKS OF LAKE NICARAGUA: True Tales of Adventure, Travel, and Fishing.
By Randy Wayne White. Paperbound. Published-in-$16.95 Our Price $4.95
A good buy and a thoughtful read on a rainy day or by the fire.
YELLOWSTONE FISHES: Ecology, History, and Angling in the Park.
By J.D. Varley & P. Schullery. Paperbound. Published-in-$19.95 Our Price
My next order will include this one, for the ecology and history especially.
If you'all don't scarf them all up. ;)
All the best!
