I have little experience with stonecats, but tadpole madtoms always came
around. They became pests they were so aggressive at feeding. Those big
wagging bodies annoyed the other fish. They also get picky only feeding on
"good" food after that time frame and no longer scavenge as well. Though
they will come out and night and suck up every last egg and or fry of your
prized sunfish spawn. They also are great at hiding, so I avoid them now,
though the whole family is so tempting!
