Hi all,

There are channel catfish in the lower Mississippi River that either have
spots, or no spots. There are also albino
channel catfish present.....

My father regularly caught the albino's, combined with the normal coloration
types, on "trot-lines" in the spring, high water conditions.

A "trot-line" is a long piece of nylon twine that is strung between two or
more trees that are submerged at least half-way by the high water and hooks
are baited with live, young crawfish or other baits such as shrimp, sunfish
or small bowfins.......

It seems that the young "Bowfins" somehow attracted the largest catfish, but
the other baits mentioned also worked well!

While personally tending the line, I have boated catfish in excess of 20
pounds!
