Is there color on this fish that we can't see in the pic? Could it be a local color morph of orangethroat (maybe washed out in photo)? Here is a very good site for Illinois fish species. http://www.inhs.uiuc.edu/cbd/ilspecies/fishsplist.html When you click on a species if brings up a map of where they have been collected. There are several darters located in the Sangamon River system.
