I don't think this thread has come up on this list, but on the killietalk
list Wright Huntley mentioned that Hanna Instruments has a special for the
year 2000 on a good, inexpensive TDS (total dissolved solids) meter. If you
go to their web site at
http://www.hannainst.com/welcome.htm
and follow the link for Specials, you'll find their TDS-1 Tester for $14.40
plus shipping (which turned out to be $4). This is an invaluable tool for
both aquarium keeping and field work. Mine came today and I'm thrilled to
have a new toy, esp. at the price. These testers usually go for $40-$50.
