In trying to collect Brook Silversides for an attempt to spawn them. This is my "luck" so far. If anyone has better "luck" please let me know your methods.

Aug. 26 put 11 in a ice chest with a small amount of ice to keep the water cool. The fish were never lifted out of the water in the net,but were scouped up and placed in the ice cest. I was on a MI. chapter collecting trip and couldn't leave right away. Three hours later 2 fish didn't look good and were placed back in the river before driving home (1 hour drive). At home basement tanks temp. at 78 all fish showinf distress. Six died within 24 hours. Three still alive and doing well.

Sept. 23 collected same way but no ice in ice cest and left for home right after collecting the fish. Water temp. from river was 60, and the water in basement tanks 65. Put half river water in tank with fish. Lost two within two days.

First collection 33% survival
Second collection 40% survival

All five fish doing great eating frozen blood worms.
