Jay, you are so right, man!,... The consumer is fed a lot of b.s. oitches
that is often acepted as "bible" because many are too lazy to ask questions
and do research for themselves as to the use of a product. A good example is
the use of lawn chemicals. So many people these days are "duped" into
thinkink this is something we must use on our lawns to destroy otherwise
benign plants. I once heard a commercial that said... "This weed clean-up
will kill up to "x" ammount of weeds in your yard, BUT IT WON"T HARM YOUR
LAWN!!!" ... This is like saying.... "This gun will shoot a hole through
your chest, but it wont harm your body!!!"... HA! Often, we let rhetoric
influence us as truth. This is always the case in politics. If we can use
stats and common sense basic math for example in determining whether we need
another superstore in our community, we would see that often there is no
need for those places, based on a market study that would determin that too
many stores of such size are not needed in a community that has not the pop.
to support it, and when one store of such size NEEDS a certain radius of
customers to stay open. Often is the case that these entities will
"saturate" an area, and what ever stays open, will stay open... and what
closes ... closes. This is a tax burden on communities in so many ways, and
the development community thatt is responsible for this sort of thing,
merely sells city councils a line of bull saying that this developement will
"save you" in so many ways!!!!... Often people swallow this BIG TIME BS and
there are no numbers backing up what they say, only hype. If one learns good
math and reason, they will see this baloney. I have seen this unwillingness
to use "simple math" by city council members over and over again, and the
only people who end up benefitting from it are a wealthy few.... All of this
because someone has failed to use the simple math. Commercialism is telling
us what we want to believe, so to speak, that if we add 2+2 we can somehow
get 5!!!... Get what I'm sayin'!!!!!
