what about your cement pond? if that doen't freeze, have you thought of
just pumping water from the bottom of the pond into the darter tanks? that
would keep the tanks pretty much the same temp without bothering with a
heater.

For that matter, you might think about using plastic tubs in case the water
does freeze - I'd hate to break the tanks *and* lose the fish.
