I have to take that back. I did have a large blackbanded and two small ones
back in the 90's that would eat crushed shrimp pellets and get fat off of
them. Often I see though that fish like this ( picky about prepared foods)
will eat this stuff, chew and chew it, and then most of it just falls out
their gills. It may look like they are eating it, but actually they are
just trying to derive anything out of it that is edible, to them. If fat
little bellies result from the feeding, then they are obviously eating it
and it is doing good. Getting any of these fish to eat prepared foods is a
great thing. No needing to rely on live food sources and cultures, and the
possibility of disease. But you can't beat earthworms for fish food.
