G'day Arthit

Welcome to the NANFA list! You have a most interesting background,
Thailand has many fascinating freswhater fishes, many of which are very
poorly known here in the USA other than some of the aquarium species that
originate from there. My background is similar to yourself, I am from
Australia and have kept and sampled fishes from a large portion of that
continent for many years before coming here to do my masters and am now
finishing up my phd next month. I joined NANFA shortly after arriving
here over 10 years ago and have been massively impressed with the
organisation which has been transformed in many ways over that 10 years.

I think that if you really want to meet a bunch of great people, and see
some very cool fishes do everything that you can to make it to the NANFA
convention in Arkansas in June. These meetings are truely fantastic and
are a great way to see more of the diversity of North American fishes.
And if you ever make it out to Oklahoma we'll be glad to show you some of
the local fishes too.

One last thing, I'm sure people would be fascinated to know what you'd
catch during a typical fish collecting trip in Thailand? Please tell the
list a couple of stories about this when you get a spare moment. Also,
what are you doing your masters degree on?

Cheers
