For most small darter and minnow fry I start them in green water. Almost
all fry are able to eat newly hatched brine shrimp and micro worms within a
week. There also is the old fry food of powdered egg yoke, a pinch daily
will get the microscopic life in you tank having a population explosion.
Adding some plants from an established aquarium or a sponge filter that has
been in a tank for awhile also is a good start. If the fry are active
swimmers a few snails help.
