We could do that now, but it only takes a minute for any one person to
subzcribe, and it is good that folks do this so they know how to
unzubzcribe, plus they get the welcome message that explains a little bit
about the list and contains the guidelines that will hopefully make the
list run smoother and be more orientated to being focused on discussions
about native fishes. Unfortunately many interested people with lots to
contribute have stayed away from the nanfa list in the past due to the
volume and nature of some discussions that didn't really need to occur.

And most importantly, it is less work for me. :-)

And if you are wondering about the misspellings above (eg, subzcribe) it
is because certain words in the first 10 lines will cause the message to
bounce. This is to avoid having administrative oriented requests going
out to the list.
