Hey folks,

It's coming up quick! I am planning a sampling/snorkeling trip in SW VA
for Labor Day weekend (Sept. 3-5). This would include the upper Holston R.
system and the upper Clinch R. system. Accomodations will be a primitive
cabin (no running water or electricity) on Possum Creek in VA (just north
of Kingsport, TN) with plenty of room in the yard for tents, if you prefer.

On Saturday, we will hit the Clinch River and some of its tribs (at least
Copper Creek). On Sunday we will stay in the N. Fork Holston River and its
tribs (Possum Cr., Big Moccasin Cr.). If you have a VA gazateer, everything
is on the bottom half of page 20. All of this will take place in VA, so
only 1 license needed! A 5-day non-resident license is $6.50. VA fishing
regs can be found here: http://www.dgif.state.va.us/fishing/fish_regs2004.html

Hopefully, the water will be clear enough for snorkeling in addition to
seines and rod and reel. Lots of stuff to see here in the headwaters of the
TN River drainage. Also, if the skies are clear, we may try to do a little
star-gazing from the dark skies over Possum Cr.

I have to work on Monday, but everyone is welcome to stick around and tour
Bays Mtn. Park (www.baysmountain.com) or strike out on your own.

Anyone who is interested please contact me off-list. I will send out more
detailed directions for meeting and phone numbers, etc. Casper, Chip, and
Mike Brem, y'all are on the list for that.

Y'all come!
