The web site is excellent, a good educational tool. It does not address natives, however, at least for many people, since so many do not recognise the potential of native species to cause harm when released beyond their range, or often they fail to recognise range limits.

Perhaps more germaine to the recent discussion on the list, it does not address release of aquarium specimens back to the habitat from which they or their progenitors were collected. That was the focus of the discussion, or at least some were saying that that is ok, so long as the person doing the releasing has followed healthy maintenance protocol.

I think that NANFA, and retailers who deal in natives like yourself, should address that particular concern.

Dear List,
Has anyone checked out the website "http://www.habitattitude.net"? I
haven't read all of the information on the site but I think they have
the right idea. Perhaps we could point others to this website with
similar questions? Or maybe NANFA might like to contribute to their
cause? Just a thought.
