As much as I really really want to host a fish camp in Tennessee this summer, May-October weekends are going to be a killer for me. Due to the wonders that are hydroelectric regulation and flow patterns I can only do thesis research consistantly, and sometimes safely, on the weekends, especially because of the recreational management of the Hiwassee River. So that leaves me with two weekends a month for the most part which isn't too bad. The problem is none of it is set in stone and the choices would be floating around dependent upon conditions and weather and all those fun variable factors.

That said, I know Todd and I have already talked about rendevousing our early spring aspirations, which I was doing some map and literature scouting today for in the Duck and Collins region, and the Emory and Little River just happen to be on the way too....
I can offer a good deal of support, logistics, suggestions, and sites especially in those watersheds though, and really really hope to make it out, I just couldn't put it fully on myself with the chance I might not be able to make it.

bruce thanks for putting together another sipsey trip. ive had a fine time
both times.
july 4 is on a tuesday. perhaps that weekend ( july 1 & 2 ) would not be
better because the camping area might be busy w/ holiday campers and many of us
would prefer to spend the july 4th weekend w/ family.
thus my vote leans to the june 24, 25 weekend. i would probably arrive thurs
or fri to get a pre jump on it.

i would like to see us in the se region host some other trips too. i would
suggest 1 a month. i know folks from far away could not attend each month but
many of us regionally probably could.

any volunteer hosters for may, july or august?
show other fishheads what is in your backyard.

my personal goals for this upcoming season are to snorkle and video flame
chubs and arrow darters and return to florida in the late winter for another
panhandle spring run.
