"I did some research and talked with a representative by the name of
John. He explained this to me about the fish that we carry:
'...male fish in many species are more colorful than their female
counterparts. This coupled with the fact that pet parent research says
color is the primary criteria for selecting a fish, the breeding
community has put greater focus on producing male fish... much of what
is offered to us today is based on what the breeders are producing and
not us forcing them to breed/sell.' "
