log perch are jumpy. patience is the key as they are generally inquisitive.
try resting in a good spot. turn a few stones so the loggies will get curious
and start checking out what you have exposed, and lower a net over them.

you can also try the 2 hand net technique where one larger net is stationary
and the other gently prodes and herds them toward the awaiting net.
loggies are odd in captivity for me. some are very "friendly" others very
shy.
great job w/ the pics.
other good places to snorkel near houston are the barton springs in austin,
san marcos and comal rivers. excellent spots.
the gar and buffalo would have made some good eating. shameful. los of
humans are mean.
